my story

After graduating from University in business administration, I decided to swap my suit for the blue-collar and focus on my passion for traditional craftsmanship and being on the road. And what could combine these two fascinations better than handbags.

I have acquired the savoir-faire of making handbags from a traditional maroquinerie-formation in Paris – the city of love, the city of lights and home to the most skilled artisans in leather craftsmanship.

Back in Switzerland, I opened my atelier combined with a showroom in Zürich where every bag is made by hand and everyone is welcome to see and experience how a handbag is made.

All Orlando Maroquinier bags are hand-stitched in Zürich and made of high quality and sustainable materials. Each piece is numbered and the vegetable tanned leather used can be traced back to its source.
The metal applications are made in-house from Ecobrass. A highly resistant brass, free from toxic additives like lead or nickel.

Quality should not end after a predefined period of time. Therefore all Orlando Maroquinier bags come with a lifelong warranty on defects in workmanship and materials.

sustainability & transparency

Sourcing leather means taking great responsibility towards our environment. I work with vegetable tanned leather exclusively. In addition, most of my leather is labeled organic and can be traced back to the farm of its origin.
Furthermore, I keep transport distances short by using raw materials manufactured from local and regional producers.
